Hi there. Thanks for visiting my page.  I love life and have many passions. I'd like to share a few with you….

I am fascinated with transformation at any level - personal, group, societal, global. I have a master's degree in organization development  (http://bschool.pepperdine.edu/programs/msod) and wrote my master's thesis on personally transformative experiences.  Professionally, I hope to get into social change and work with the newly emerging fourth sector. I am in the process of building my consulting practice, called Mikaena Consulting.

My personally transformative journey of healing from a serious back injury led me on a profound spiritual path.  The experience has enabled me to walk through the fear of my own pain, thus making it possible for me to face the pain in our world today (instead of remaining “asleep” like many people seem to be).  It also lead me to embrace alternative methods of healing.  Through this journey I learned the technique of energy healing using the chakra system (http://www.thehealingacademy.com/).  I am passionate about bringing healing to ourselves and our world.  For as long as I can remember I have had this mission in mind.  My healing journey also led me to take part, as a participant and later as a coach, in a profound and transformative personal growth program (http://www.authenticleadershipcenter.com/). 

I am also passionate about encouraging myself and others to let our light shine.  I love the quote by Marianne Williamson “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us…”  I believe each of us has a unique gift to give. I constantly encourage those I know and love to see their own light and give their gifts freely.

I love anything international.  I managed a not-for-profit international student exchange program for a number of years with the mission of changing the world one person at a time (changing people's mindsets through living and working in another country: http://www.aiesecus.org/). Through work, school, and pleasure, I have been to 18 countries.  I have a particular fascination with Latin culture.  I love the food, the festive feeling in the air, and the dance rhythm - above all, salsa dancing! 

I am drawn to creative expressions of all kinds. I nourish myself by creating artwork and poetry. With a mom as an artist, I grew up surrounded by creativity and fun art supplies!
